Mentoring For
Seasoned Change Catalysts

If you are ready to evolve your
existing business in some way,
explore the following scenarios

When you feel out of sync with your business, there’s usually a mismatch, an inconsistency, or a gap that you aren’t aware of yet. It’s essential to address these issues before you attempt to amp up your marketing efforts.

Revisiting various aspects of your work and your business gives you the opportunity to refine, realign, evolve, and strengthen your understanding of your work and your impact on your clients. Sometimes a small shift opens up a new path that feels far more inviting and hopeful to pursue.

The best way for you to reinvigorate your existing business will depend on what’s feeling out of sync for you. Sometimes getting to the heart of your disconnect with your business is the trickiest part of the process.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution for Seasoned Change Catalysts! Each journey is influenced by a number of factors.

I’ve described the four scenarios I see most often and the mentoring programs I’ve created to address these scenarios. Which scenario do you resonate with most?

Keep in Mind: You do not need to figure which of the following mentoring program will be best for you! In our first conversation, we’ll collaborate to discern where you are in your business journey and that will show us your best next steps.

Scenario 1: You Love What You Do, And You Would Like More Paying Clients

Before you jump straight into updating your approach to marketing, invest a few weeks in firming up your business foundation.

If you’ve been struggling with your marketing or unhappy with the results you’ve been getting, it’s likely there are one or more gaps that are holding you back.

When you don’t feel confident about your work, your offers, and your pricing, then you’ll naturally hold back when it comes to your outreach and marketing.

Your Next Step:

Verify and Refine Your Work with Clients Before You Try New Marketing Strategies. A short series of writing prompts, replies to your responses, and an one-on-one mentoring session via Zoom.

Scenario 2: You Have a Variety of Services That You Want to Turn into a More Cohesive Set of Offerings

You worry that your clients and colleagues are confused about what you do.

You’ve been in business long enough that you have created a number of programs, workshops, and services that represent different eras of your business.

You’ve been looking for ways to simplify your array of offerings by trying different ways of categorizing them. You’ve tried to figure out what to put on the back burner for now. You’ve been trying to discern whether updating your services based on recent training would give you the clean focus you’ve been seeking.

Nothing you’ve tried feels right to you.

Sometimes you are too close to your services to discover new ways to see how they fit together. Let’s talk it through to see what we can discover together!

Your Next Step:

Picture Your Work: Streamline and Simplify Your Services. Join me for a set of two 90-minute mentoring calls to share what you know about your business. Together, we’ll look at how all of the pieces of your business can work together in a new cohesive way. After our first conversation, we’ll identify some questions for you to ponder and explore in preparation for our second conversation. By the end of our second session, you’ll have a clearer picture of your work and next steps.

Scenario 3: Feeling Out of Sync with Your Work and Your Marketing

Even though you have been in business for some time, you’ve come to the point that you realize something isn’t feeling right to you about the work you are doing and the marketing you are doing.

It’s often difficult to get to the source of your discomfort by pondering your situation or in a single mentoring session. There are so many moving parts in a business and you need to feel clear, confident, and comfortable with each of those parts.

To make sure that we get to the bottom of what’s going on, I’ve found it helpful to start with verifying that the foundation of your business and your work with clients is stable enough to support the growth of your business.

When we confirm you know the business you want to grow and the services you want to offer, then we can look at the outreach methods that align with what you are offering in ways that reflect your values and sense of integrity.

Your Next Step:

Reawaken Your Passion: Re-imagine Your Work with Clients (Prepare)
Align with Your Marketing: Rethink Your Outreach (Share)

Each of these programs is based on a hybrid form of coaching. In addition to writing prompts to help you visit every aspect of your business, I respond to your answers with observations, additional questions, or a few ideas you might want to consider. In addition, at the end of each segment, we have a one-on-one mentoring call to pull together the themes you’ve discovered.

Scenario 4: Feeling Called to Create an Original Body of Work

You have worked with clients for some time and you see that you have a unique approach to supporting them through the scenario they are facing. Your training, expertise, and personal experience give you a unique perspective that is valuable to your clients.

Whether you want to create a program, workshop, or retreat or develop a model, framework, or book, I can help you at each stage of the process.

  • Taking your thoughts and ideas and pulling them together in a form that is more streamlined and accessible to your clients. You have such a close relationship to your work that it can be hard to find the words to describe it for others.

  • Creating opportunities to share your creation with a few people for additional feedback to confirm you are on the right track and verify that your way of approaching the topic is viable. Using the feedback you receive to strengthen and refine your original ideas.

  • Translating your ideas into the language that will attract your best clients. When you know your work is helpful to clients, then it’s time to figure out how to engage your clients. It can be startling to realize that the way you describe your work doesn’t always align with what clients need to hear.

Your Next Step:

Design, Develop, and Evolve Your Body of Work. How we proceed will depend on where you are in your journey to create your new program or model. We work through a combination of one-on-one mentoring sessions and reviewing your materials to help you refine your thoughts.

After you’ve created an updated vision of the work you want to do, then you’ll be ready to explore a new, more aligned way to share your work with those who will benefit most. Rather than teach you a bunch of marketing strategies, I’ll support you in discovering your best-fit strategies, updating your essential marketing pieces, and experimenting with new outreach methods to see what actually works for you.
