Upgrading Our Skills to Meet
the New Challenges of Our Times

I have been actively studying and tracking change and transitions since my grad school days in the mid-1980s, and although transition trends have changed dramatically since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced us to an entirely new level of change.

As you look at the new realities of our time through the lens of your professional expertise, what do you sense?

  • Do you see new opportunities to deepen your work with clients?

  • Do you know what to say to clients who are having a difficult time navigating the deep uncertainties of our times?

  • Are you feeling calm enough and centered enough to support someone else?

    Or…

  • Are you feeling overwhelmed by the intensity and scope of changes unfolding around you?

  • Are you wondering what you have to offer your clients right now?

  • Are you feeling unsettled because you are barely able to guide yourself and your family forward at the moment? (If this is the case, visit Your Personal Well-Being before you continue.)

The Times Are Inviting us to Deepen Our Training, Skills, and Expertise

Generally speaking, up until now, our training has been focused on personal, relational, familial, and professional changes.

But times have shifted.

The training that we've been relying on thus far may not be sufficient right now. It may not provide us with the framework, perspectives, and insights we need to offer the most effective support for our clients.

Given the new levels of change, it’s time to stretch ourselves to expand our knowledge, perspective, and tools beyond our original training and beyond our experience up until now.

What else do we need to know in this new era of great change?

Is there anything we already know that can be evolved to a new level to help clients who are troubled by these waves of significant change?

Is there a way we can work together to leverage each change catalyst’s unique knowledge and expertise?

How can we co-create what's needed right now and what's needed next for the world?
